Vita means life. This collections is a series of paintings exploring ecological diversity of small areas, where I have walked and enjoyed interacting with nature. Each painting is a collection of small fragments I have collected during a specific season, returning to the same area over a period of time. This series of paintings and compositions was inspired by an Artist Residency at Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island in 2020. Walking the meadows at Bloedel I admired the diversity of plants and the walking itself inspired the horizontal composition. I continue painting in this tradition.
